December empties #01: Naturie Skin Conditioner Review

Hello hello hello :)

Happy Monday! How are we all?

While I was brainstorming ideas for blogging, a thought suddenly stroke me to blog about empties' products of the month where I can actually to do a decent review of a product without my post being thousands of words long!

Here's to my first empties post of 2016! Enjoy :)

Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner and Whitening | Made in Japan | 500 ml | No Fragrance &  No Colorant

Do you work under air-conditioned environment frequently? Feeling dry on the skin because of the weather? Battling with summer or winter?
A year ago, I was introduced to this lotion which provides ample moisture to the skin. It contains natural botanical moisturising ingredient which is hatomugi extract. This is none other than Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner.

*Luckily, I took photos of the product when I was halfway through, so sorry in advance with no full photos*

Product description: “Hatomugi” (“Job’s tears” in English) has long been called “a plant for life and health”, and popularly consumed as tea for health or act as a herbal medicine. Thus Hatomugi skin conditioner uses such Hatomugi’s effects in repairing and conditioning the skin.

Packaging & texture: This comes in 500 mL and it is suitable to be used on face and body on daily basis. It contains natural plant extract, hatomugi (coix seed) and it penetrates easily into areas of dry skin. The texture is light and non-sticky and it's fragrance-free. The texture of this skin conditioner is water-like, has a similar consistency as a toner and it feels refreshing and not sticky at all.

Ways to use this as:

  • toner: apply with cotton pads on a cleansed face
  • mask: soak 4 cotton pads with the lotion and leave on face for about 3 to 5 minutes OR use a plain facial mask and soak it through and apply
  • body care: apply on skin after bathing
  • after sun care: acts as a reliever like aloe vera for after sunburn!
As for the usage, it is so versatile that you can use it on your face and body anytime anywhere. To enhance its soothing sensation. it can be kept cool in the refrigerator as well.
After a year of using this, I can see the result. I can even see the result after a week of using it. Hence with constant use, my face has less irritation, smaller pores and have whiter and brighter skin.

Overalls, this Hatomugi Skin Conditioner can be used on face and body which is a plus point in my opinion. I personally tried testing on my hands and legs and I can see an instant increase in moisture. Who would actually want to spend extra money on separate products for separate parts of the body when you can opt for a product which works on body and face at the same time. Its texture is gentle and light and penetrates easily into skin without leaving a greasy feeling. The cooling effect often put me to relaxation mode especially when I use it as a face mask.

Would I recommend this? I definitely recommend to you to try as it's a Japanese drugstore brand - about 20 AUD which is affordable. And one major benefit of this product is whitening, so if you're keen on that, this is definitely the product to reach for!

Pros:
- price wise = quite affordable for a 500 mL lotion (about 20 AUD)
- no rash or irritation (even for sensitive skin)
- moisturising
- soothing
- pore tightening
- multi-purpose = use as toner, mask, body freshener, mist
- continuous use (finish the bottle) = whiten, brighten and even out your skin

Would I repurchase? I am not repurchasing at the moment, because I have other toners line up for me to try.

What am I replacing with? I have currently started to use Son & Park Beauty Water.

And that's a wrap-up of my first empties of this month. I shall see you all soon in the next post!

Love,
Melon xoxo
