Etude House CC Cream in #1 Silky Review

Image
BB cream, CC cream... DD cream?! The trend of BB Creams has now been exceptionally popular worldwide after its success in the asian markets for the past few years. CC Cream was developed to retain all the skincare properties of BB Cream while providing skin correcting makeup. Etude House has two options in their CC Cream line, #01 Silky and #02 Glow. I received the Silky one for free (for review purposes) before exams and now I'm here to share my opinion on my first CC cream ever. The texture is exactly that, silky, smooth, without shimmer or shiny particles. So I guess, we all heard of CC Creams right? :D Let me debrief you all quickly.... CC stands for colour corrector. And it claims to be a mix between skincare and makeup, a more better, in terms of a skincare product, than BB cream, but less coverage/sheerer than BB cream. First impression:  When it comes to Etude House’s products, the packaging is always the first one to capture our attention. And this one is no ex

Regen Cosmetics 2 Step Synergy Effect Mask [Pore] Review

Image
Hello peeps! :) How are we all? So I'm back for a review post for y'all to read :) Do youse miss me? JOKES JOKES. Thought I do a quickie one before I leave overseas (for a holiday) soon as I have already finished my exams few days ago! WOOHOO! I hope I did the papers justicee too X) Part of my skincare regime is to slap on a mask at least once or twice a week (eventhough it's very hard to maintain this routine during the semester). Now I've tried plenty of different sorts of masks especially from Korea and Taiwan, but I haven’t quite stumbled upon any mask quite like this one… TA-DA! The Regen Cosmetics 2 Step Synergy Effect Mask for Pore~ [pic: left] I received these masks for free (for review purposes) a month ago. Finally tried these out as of few days ago (after exams) to de-stress my tired face. Have you ever heard of the brand, Regen ? If you are Korean, well this should be very familiar to you. I personally have known Regen for quite a while now. It

Espoir Pro Intense Cleansing Toner Review

Image
Well hello hello hello :) Thought I do another (short) review before the agony of studying for exams 24/7! Here comes the product I want to review for you all: This product, Espoir Pro Intense Cleansing Toner  give the best care for any skin condition. It's okay if your skin is either oily, combination or sensitive because this cleansing is good for all skin types. I used this, of course, to clean my makeup. I really like this as it cleans off the makeup (really well!) without the use of water or cleansing foam. Though I only receive a small size, it has worked wonders and I am determined to get this goodie once I finish using my cleansing oil. Have you tried this? What's your thoughts? I will be back (reviewing) soon after my exams! And will do at least few more reviews before I go overseas :D Stay safe and happy everyone! Love, Velene xoxo *I received this product for free for review purposes. All opinions are honest and my own*

Etude House My Lash Serum Review

Image
Helloooo there! :) Today's review will be about this cute little thing here.. I received this a couple of months ago for free (for review purpose), but I did not use it everyday though, as I sometimes can't be bother or just don't have the time to do that extra step in caring my lashes. But, for the sake of this review, I used it for two weeks straight and hence a review now! :D The reason I was keen to try this product out was because I have really short lashes (typical asian here!).You can barely see it and I hate applying mascara (as I have to apply so many coats and sometimes it just smudges and arghh that frustration, maybe it's just me though... hmm) and in fact, I also have a fear of curling my lashes :( It's really depressing and actually already trying to accept it. And I know there are all these products out there with serum promising but because majorities are out of my budget, I just wouldn't try something if I cannot be sure of. I know that t

Tony Moly Panda's Dream "So Cool" Eye Stick Review

Image
According to Tony Moly, they states that this product is "a hard-to-find Korean skin treatment that instantly de-puffs and revitalizes tired, dry eyes with a cooling, moisturizing sensation" . Hmmmm.... First impression: I picked this up mainly because of the cute packaging and because I saw I would be able to review it as well (that is how I justify my purchases these days). The product itself is a pale blue colour. It is in a stick form and a bit sticky when touched initially. The first time I used it I thought it felt like I was using a glue stick! However once on the skin it doesn't feel sticky at all. It also doesn't drag at all on the skin, which is good for the sensitive skin in that area. The smell is quite subtle as well which I like. The product lays a cooling sensation on the eyes which I love as it feels very relaxing. My under-eye bags aren't that bad so I haven't noticed any difference in them. They also provide a nice hydr

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Review

Image
Hello everyone! I am back again with another review :3 This time it is the infamous Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel. I'm sure you all have heard about this product, right? Or was I the only one who doesn't? XD Well, if you have never heard of this before then you really should read this blog post! I am sure you won't regret it! :) This product is enriched with 92% aloe vera and it's a mild (perfect for sensitive skin!) formula free from paraben, mineral oil and artificial colours! And the purpose is to use to mildly moisturise various parts of the body such as face, arms, legs and even hair! How to use: Apply an appropriate amount to dry sensitive parts of the face and body often for the best results. First impression:  It comes in a huge transparent green jar containing 300mL as stated at the package. The gel is transparent, so it is definitely free from artificial colouring like it is described. I love the fact th

Miss Hana Smoky Eyeliners Review

Image
Hi my lovelies! :) Absolute Beauty sent me some cosmetics in which I shall review, the first review shall be on this cute eyeliners. Prior to this, I have never heard of Miss Hana, but I was pleasantly surprised by its quality and packaging. There are 6 colors available for this product. The 6 colors are: Moon Light (Champagne Gold), Night River (Glittery Black), Alchemy (Glittery Dark Brown), Amethyst (Glittery Purple), Destiny (Glittery Dark Green), Brown Eye (Shining Brown), Stardust (Wine Red), Golden Silk (Orange Gold) and Heaven Blue (Dark Blue). As you can see, the packaging is to die for! Plus, I really love the colours I received, which are brown (a natural colour) and purple (my favourite colour!) The instruction (at the back cover) on how to use the eyeliner was well-written but it's in Japanese words. Bummer! But luckily pictures are accompanied to show you how to use it. *phew* This line of product can be used as an eyeliner and eyeshadow! Bril

3CE Shimmer Stick in Pink Review

Image
HELLO! :D I'm back again to leave a review that I wanted to upload yonks ago *sadly had no time and got bombarded by lots of stuffs* But finally... I'm here.. *yays!* to talk about the 3CE Shimmer Stick! It is basically a highlighter stick and has delicate and fine glitters that will instantly glam up your face. This product comes in 2 colours: peach and pink. And I received the pink shade :) On a plus note, this is also my first 3CE product so I am excited to talk about it. Let's go~ Firstly, I'm not a makeup artist, but ever since I received this shimmer stick for free (for review purposes), I'm turning pretty quickly addictive to them! Why? Because you can use it for everything you can imagine!! I apply it mostly on my nose because it is the part I like to emphasize the most, and also to accomplish my dream to have a more prominent nose #lifeofaflatnose# XD First impression: I like the simple design of this product. It is their signature design to ke

Hera Aquabolic Moisturising Emulsion Review

Image
A while ago, I received this sample as a gift from Absolute Beauty . And finally. I had the time to sit down and write down a review for you all to read :) So what is a moisturising emulsion? It presents you a moistened skin that does not dry up. It doesn't merely provide moisture to your skin, but rather protects the moisture. It has a slightly runny cream-gel consistency that allows me to slather it onto my face smoothly and evenly. I personally prefer to use this as my night-time moisturiser since it takes longer for the skin to fully absorb this product, compared to other moisturizers in the market. I'm usually in a rush in the mornings hence I like to wait for my moisturiser to sink in fully before applying sunscreen and concealer. This product leaves my skin feeling plump and soft. It also leaves a really nice floral scent that I can't get enough of. Moreover, this is also my first time I ever heard of the existence of this brand.... Have you tried anything f

VDL Lumilayer Primer Review

Image
I have always wanted to invest myself a primer. But I've been advised greatly in the past that I don't need one as I only use concealer and BB cream, which contains "primer" in it. And the good thing about BB cream that it stays for a good 6 hours for me, thus I guess that is why I wasn't recommended any primer when I go makeup shopping. And as we all know, the purpose of a primer is to help makeup stay longer. So why need one right? But the curiosity hits me hard when I heard of this product's existence which then probes me to try it. So what is VDL? I for one didn't know this brand existed at all! :X VDL (Violet Dream Luminous) cosmetics was founded in 2012 by The Colour Lab of LG Household and Healthcare in Korea. They are known for their extensive range of innovative beauty products ranging from skin care to makeup. Prices are pretty reasonable too! The VDL Lumilayer Primer is one of VDL’s best selling product and apparently a must-have beauty ite

Introduction for new blog!

Hi all, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and my brand new blog. As you may or may not know, I also own a personal blog in which I unravel about my thoughts there on a not-so-daily basis. I decided to start this blog to talk about beauty products and food reviews and share information with you all. This blog will probably start out slow as I am a university student studying pharmacy and uni really does take up most of my time. I will try to keep this blog updated and please leave a comment and let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks for taking time to stop by and keep checking for new posts :) I think that's it for now, I don't want this post to become long and drawn out (if you know me, then you know I have a tendency of doing an overkill with details). PS. Feel free to check out my sidebar links which consist of: an about me page; the story of makeup and I ; and the story of food and I ! :) Where to find me: tumblr | youtube | instagra
