Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon Review

Are you looking for a brow filler that you can easily master in less than a minute? If you are, then you are on the correct page ;)

As you can see from the title, I am reviewing the Maybelline's Eyestudio Brow Drama Pomade Crayon. This offers exactly that for anyone who wants to enhance their brow look in one quick and easy swipe! (literally!!) At this moment, you might be feeling hesistant? In doubt? Right? That's okay. Because when I received this product, I hesitated because of the chubby stick style it comes with, I doubted that it won't allow me for an accurate control that those people with sparse brows may need. But.... it proved me wrong! Read on to know more :)

First impression:
The first thing I noticed about this product is that it's in twist-up form as opposed to the inconvenience of needing sharpening, which is a first plus!
The pomade crayon has a wax-cream texture. With the shade-wise, at the start I thought it would be very pigmented since the colour looks really dark. But. I found out that is in fact, not true. The crayon is easy to work with as the colour goes on semi-transparent so you can actually layer for more intensity without creating a harsh-looking brow. They are pigmented enough to show up, but not so much, like not over-powering.

How do I use it?
I used it like how I did with an eyebrow pencil. It glides on with ease. It didn't make the eyebrow hairs looking or feeling greasy, which was a bonus! The formula sets to an almost powder-like finish, however one thing I noticed that it remains slightly smudge-able. But on the positive side, this actually makes it easier to blend and correct mistakes, perfect for beginners! So if you are prone to touching your eyebrows or have oily skin, it could wear off more quickly - but that's also why eyebrow setting mascara gels are in the market! I always use one regardless of what kind of eyebrow products I use - and my favourite staple has been the Loreal Brow Artist Plumper in light/medium.

Overall:
Besides the chubby stick style, which I think that is the only component with the real drawback, but that aside, there is still a lot to love about this product, like how quick and simple it is to use and how natural it looks on! It is definitely for someone who wants a quick brow fix. As I mentioned earlier, it works well in combination with other brow products like, powder, pencils, gels etc. It's a great option for the brow novice!

Would I recommend it to you?
I thought for this, I would show you the pros and cons of getting it :)

PROS:
- great for those who want a polished look but don't want to spend a lot of time on their brows or want a quickie brow in the morning when running late or have little time on hand
- natural-looking with semi-transparent shades that are easy to work with
- fragrance free.

CONS:
As mentioned earlier, some may find the wide tip awkward and inconvenient, particularly for sparse brows that require detailed application. You may like it if you have good, thick brows and all you need is just a little bit more definition. But if you have a lot to fill in and to actually draw your eyebrow shape, in other words, if you have thin eyebrows, just totally skip this product. The tip of this pomade is quite thick.

So yea, that's it! I hope you all have enjoyed reading this detailed review. By the way, this is actually the first post on this blog with a review on western products, are you interested in seeing more non-korean products reviews on this blog? I do short reviews on western products on my instagram (instagram.com/melon_yu). I would love to hear your opinion and thoughts on this!
