The physics of beauty: A way of life with Soya Garden

For those who are passionate when a brand is cruelty-free, promotes clean beauty, balanced living and total wellness, then this New Zealand brand is right up your alley!

Introducing you all to: Soya Garden.

"Inspired by nature’s adaptability and endurance, we spent the last 18 months carefully sourcing the most potent soy extracts, supported by the purest and exceptional natural ingredients, harnessing their beneficial properties to develop a truly New Zealand skincare line"

Beauty is about confidence and empowerment.

Soya Garden is the first skincare brand in New Zealand that focuses on plant-based protein, coming from nature and sharing the same biological chemistry as out bodies. Rooted in science and derived from natural ingredients, these help with the look of a flawless and stress-free complexion.

The range sources potent soy extracts, supported by pure natural ingredients, harnessing their beneficial properties to develop a results-driven botanical skincare line.

Key Ingredients (and their functions) in their range include the following  —

  • Lysofix aka extracted from non-GMO soybeans: provides hydration to the skin whilst improving the bioavailability of active ingredients. It also enhances collagen and elastin production and delivers soothing benefits.
  • Ξ³-pga® aka natto gum (made from fermentation of soybean): potent antioxidant; moisturises skin by: capturing and retaining moisture, by enhancing and extending critical hyaluronic acid functionalities, by increasing the levels of natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) etc
  • PENTAVITIN: mimics the natural hydration process; creates a moisture barrier on the skin after application and binds deep within the layers of skin, holding on tight for up to 72 hours. It helps maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier while smoothing and plumping skin over time.
  • Mang’in tense aka extracted from mango: high in antioxidants and phytochemicals that protect the skin from free radicals that damage the skin and induce premature aging
  • plant-derived Squalane: highly-effective emollient and natural antioxidant
  • Tocopheryl aka Vitamin E: strong antioxidant and helps fight free radical damage and promote skin healing
  • Trehalose: sugar found in plants and works as a moisturiser, skin protectant, and antioxidant.
  • New Zealand Manuka Honey: a natural antimicrobial and beneficial for skin; has an outstanding ability to nourish, soothe and heal sensitive skin
  • Hyaluronic Acid: increases skin moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle
If you want to read more, Soya Garden has a page of their ingredients in details: HERE.

Soya's range includes a foaming wash, lotion, skin essence, cream, soy mask and hand cream. I was kindly gifted the skin essence and hand cream, which I will be reviewing in today's post.

"We promise never carry out animal tests, never add substances harmful to the human body. Our products are from glucocorticoid, alcohol and GE." - Soya claims.

    • Common question: GMO in food, not in skincare?
‘GMO’ stands for Genetically Modified Organism. Many people these days have made the switch to Non-GMO food products due to the potential health risks of eating GMO foods (potentially harmful chemicals and pesticides that have been sprayed on GMO crops). But GMOs are not limited to food. They are also found in skin care and makeup. Believe it or not, more skincare products than you think there are contain derivatives from genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

But rest assured, only non-GMO soybean is used in Soya Garden.
