Good morning/night everyone, today we shall talk about.... dear, Klairs latest cleansing oil. But first, have you heard of dear, Klairs?

dear, Klairs is a popular vegan and cruelty-free Korean skincare brand that’s all about simplicity. They prioritise simple, effective ingredients in order to help those with sensitive or problematic skin.

So when Wishtrend reached out and send me the newest addition to their line, dear, Klairs Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil (not to be confused with their Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil though, which offers deeper cleansing) to try, I was beyond ecstatic - seriously – it’s so good! I have been using this every day since receiving it and I think this has set a new standard for cleansing oils for me. 

** A lil background --- I’ve always shield away from using cleansing oils – you can read more over HERE on why, TLDR basically a not-so-good-experience. Then I discovered cleansing balms, which became my next jam. Then laters, as I was obsessed with getting lash extensions, I had to switch to micellar water (as oil weakens extension adhesives). And since last year till now (thanks to covid, can't really go anywhere, hence no lash extensions, I have been shifting between them both (cleansing balms or micellar water), mostly just dependent on what I’m testing out at the time; I don’t really have a formula preference but I do want something that is super effective on waterproof make up and also quick to use in the shower.

Double cleansing is my favourite part of any routine - just can't beat the feeling of washing everything off and pressing reset! A true glow starts with a flawless foundation of clean, balanced, healthy skin. Don't you agree?

⇢⇢  About this cleansing oil:

The dear, KLAIRS Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil is a lightweight daily oil cleanser which effectively gets rid of makeup, dirt and oil while gently removing dead skin cells and controlling sebum production.  It is also rich in Vitamin A,B, C and contains strong antioxidant properties to keep the skin healthy while the skin stays hydrated. Suitable for all skin types and recommended to combination-oily skin and those who feel oil cleansers are too heavy.

⇢⇢  Key Ingredients:

This cleansing oil is gentle enough to use everyday and comes with a relatively short ingredient list (6 ingredients short), fragrance-free formula and is consisted of 4 major types of oil: sunflower seed oil, grape seed oil, jojoba seed oil and blackcurrant seed oil. 

• 
  sunflower seed oil: rich in linoleic acid and Vitamin E - to control sebum, maintain hydration and refines skin texture

• grape seed oil - lightweight texture and moisturising properties; non-comedogenic due to its high fatty acid content, able to reduce clogged pores
• jojoba seed oil: rich in natural Vitamin A - balances oil-water level on the skin and prevents from blocking pores
• blackcurrant seed oil: anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids - a boost of antioxidants

⇢⇢  Packaging:

This cleansing oil comes with 150 mL of product and is housed in a transparent bottle equipped with a pump, which allows for precise control and dispenses just the right amount of product. I love that it includes a neck clip, to prevent accidental dispensing or unnecessary spillage.

⇢⇢  Texture & scent:

To my utmost surprise, this Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil is incredibly lightweight and has an extremely nice consistency and silky texture to it. It has a very translucent light yellow tint. It’s neither too thick nor runny. The balanced texture is easy to work with and buys me time to transfer this onto my skin before it starts to slip through the cracks of my fingers. Speaking of slip, it has a nice slip that helps the oil glide around once it’s on the skin and feels quite luxurious and satisfying.

⇢⇢  How to use:

Dispense an appropriate amount and apply onto a dry face. Gently massage in a rolling motion. Add a little water to emulsify and then rinse off with warm water.

⇢⇢  Overall thoughts:

I use the Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil only once a day in my night routine. I don’t double cleanse in the morning, only at night and I do it specifically to remove sunscreen and makeup if any is worn that day. I use 2 pumps for my entire face and neck. *the amount will obviously vary from person to person*

The Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil doesn’t just stop there though, this takes the trophy for being the most effective at dislodging blackheads. I love inspecting my nose and cheeks each time I use this because the blackheads just come off and with extreme ease. What’s funny is when Wishtrend emailed and said that this will greatly help my pores, I thought to myself - really(?) so I was quite surprised when I saw how good this worked on my blackheads. Finally something that is truly worth being labeled “effective at blackhead removal”. Works like a charm!

The formula doesn’t stop there, what I enjoy so much is how this rinses off so easily once it emulsifies with water. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue or film on skin. And what you get is clean and clearer skin that does not feel dry or tight, instead moisturised and plump, ready for the second round of cleanser. 

Ticks all the boxes for me - removes makeup effectively, clears pore impurities and offers a satisfying, silky application. Amazes me every time I use it. 

If you are in the market for a new cleansing oil, I highly recommend giving this Klairs one a try. You won’t be disappointed! Another reason why I highly recommend is because this cleansing oil is so minimal in formulation with non-irritating ingredients that both clean and moisturise, it is the perfect first step for all skin types and also anyone suffering acne, whiteheads or blackheads, this is a must try!
