Silver Ash Hair Wax REVIEW

Hello hello hello! Welcome back to my blog :) *why do I feel like I'm video-ing this as I am typing it haha?*

Anyways, if you have been my following my Snapchat (@veleneeee), you would have seen for the past 2 days, my hair has turned GREY right? Well technically, it supposedly should look like "silver ash".... but on camera on the other hand.... looks like I have turned into a granny lmao!

I initially wanted to film like a first impression and review on this product, I did try but since the process of it was really tedious *you will see why* that I didn't end up filming it, hence a written version right here :)
So yea, since then, most of you have been spamming my inbox with what product did I use or what colour is it meant to be... well hear up people! I am finally here to reveal what is the magical product ;) LOOK BELOW. (not that you weren't looking right? haha)

the magical product!
First up, as always...
First Impression:
The picture itself looks like a great tub right? But in fact, it is quite small, can fit in my palm!
Size = 80 g
Made in Japan
When I first received this from Perth Fabulous Beauty, I was like oh, it is quite small, I guess it will have a short life then haha... but nope! Never judge a book by its cover remember haha!
 More photos!

How do I apply it?
Well the name of this product totally gives it away that this is a wax product.... so how would you apply it? Well.. apply it like how you would apply wax on your hair.... the only difference, well is that this is coloured haha XD
How I applied it was - I first washed my hair, half blow-dried it so that it's half wet and half dry, then I took a pea-size amount and lather on my palms, started from the bottom of the hair and worked my way up to the roots. Mind you, it was really tedious for me, because (a) my hair has grown so it's not really short short urghh longer hair = more hair and (b) I have thick hair and the wax is sticky, yep sticky and thick just doesn't like each other haha. I admit, I was half struggling haha. And if you can spot it yourself, there are some faded patches of my hair where you can see my hair underneath haha XD

Overall,
It does dry but doesn't wear off that easy.
BUT.. the cool thing is that you can even sleep with it! It washes out easily with shampoo and water. *Girls, no need to pull your hair yo, I promised haha* Your can spike your hair or just add silver streaks. Like for me, because my hair is like light brownish, I tried streak but it just doesn't really go well haha! But remember, everyone get different result because of what your hair colour originally is!
Oh oh oh! And.... just like makeup, a little goes a long way! I tried applying more (well silly me), it turned to more white, more dry and more volume :O #NotGoodAtAll haha XD

Pros:
  • it's TEMPORARY! It's literally gone when you wash your hair - easy to remove too! No pulling hair I promise haha ;)
  • you can sleep with it!
  • has no smell
  • perfect for go-to looks, for example, for special events like Halloween!

Cons:
  • for me, this is a con, as I mentioned above, I have thick hair so it was harder for me to apply evenly
  • very sticky - well technically, all waxes are haha! But since it's really sticky and I have thick hair, let's just say they don't go well together haha XD I couldn't use a hairbrush because it just stuck in the hair when I tried to apply it!
Would I recommend this? YES. Eventhough the process was tedious for me, well mostly was because my hair was long and thick, but if it was short like a couple of months ago, I bet it would be way more easier aha! Besides that, I would 100% recommend this for you all to try - especially if you have short hair haha ;)! It's really fun!

For all Perthies who are reading this, if you are interested, you can get this in stock at Perth Fabulous Beauty or Cosme Hut *while stocks last* - I heard that it's a really popular must have hair item!

PS. Here's a short video clip of my aftermath in the natural lighting - *BEWARE: BARE FACE ALERT* - CLICK ME

Hope you have enjoyed reading this :)

PPS. To those who are really observant haha, I did purposely label this under "hairdye" because as I said, it's not my thing to review hair products (like in general!) haha.

See you all soon x

Love,
Melon xoxo

*I received this product for free for review purposes. All opinions are honest and my own*
