Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion Review

Hello hello again :) how are we all?
The weather's getting really chilly at the moment at where I am.... and the worst part is? It's not even winter yet. I don't mind winter but the fact of waking up super early for work, and the coldness hits rock hard when it's early morning too, making the urge of wanting to stay in bed extra longer... it's forever the dilemma to be honest!
But any who! On to my newly skincare regime, which I've been putting extra hydrating products on.. due to this weather, here's a product that I picked up in Mecca (http://www.mecca.com.au/) 1.5 months ago, have been using it daily, and now here I am, to give you all, my lovely readers some feedback on whether this product is up to scratch, lives up to its name and worth the hefty price tags.

Featuring product of the day is.........

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion

Initial thoughts: I must have been living under a rock, because I had never heard of Dr Dennis Gross Skincare before. So one day, I was in the city and I thought why not have a look at Mecca, to see what's new. I was about to walk out, with no purchases (as no products caught my eyes then), I ended up around the counter area, and around there, is an area of sample/travel size products, so I thought to give it a peek. And well well well... we know what happens next - here's what happened. (click me to see). So this little guy here caught my eye - and as most of you know, anything cute - I want to try. So yeap, sold to me, as usual with the packaging. And not just the packaging, the name alone of this bad boy has me sold too.

When I got home, I did a lil research of this brand and found that it is a well-loved and raved about skincare brand.

So who is Dr Dennis Gross? Well he is a certified dermatologist, his work was inspired by the common skin concerns of his patients hence he created a skincare line to address these concerns.

"Dr. Dennis Gross personally formulates cruelty-free products using science & nature for clear, glowing skin, targeting lines, wrinkles, firmness, dry skin, & acne."

First impression & packaging: As you can see, the overall packaging - I really like it.

- simple and eye-catching, it's just like something that is soft-spoken but loud in action, just wanting you to try it out!
- the packaging really reflects the brand and the medical background on which it is built upon on.
- informative (but without being too clinical!)
- clear and bright
- the box outlines what the product is, what it is meant to do and how to use it (I really like about this being that it is straight forward, informing about the active ingredients)

Anyway, enough of my first impressions, let’s dive in a little further.

Let's test it out time! The box says that this moisturiser works twofold - to restore hydration to your skin by drawing in moisture, then sealing it in to keep it looking dewy and supple throughout the day.

The formula is really light-weight and light blue in colour. There is very subtle fresh scent, so subtle you could miss it, unless you sniff quite close haha. The moisturiser feels really refreshing on the skin and absorbs almost instantly. My skin feels so soft and supple afterwards. Because of the light-weight formula, this little guy is perfect under makeup and creates the perfect canvas for your foundation. I really like it, really like it.

Not sure whether you guys can see it properly on the left picture, my hands gets really dry especially in cold weather. So it is a best canvas to try it out before on my face. And dayuuum. As you can see, it smooths out all that dry lines! The back of my hand immediately felt like baby's skin XD

Final thoughts: having the focus of the main ingredient in this product - hyaluronic acid, it’s light, yet very hydrating. Absorbs gracefully, feels soft on the skin. It’s not in any way sticky, and most importantly, it works absolutely brilliantly on top of hyaluronic serums. Skin feels literally cushioned with moisture, hence the name, I believe haha ;)

Overall, this is seriously (by far) the best hydrating moisturiser I've ever tried.
So if you are dehydrated or want an oil-free moisturiser or you have dry skin and it needs an "extra something else", then I would highly recommend this to you!

Would I purchase again? Oh yes, absolutely! It's a gem. I might get the original size next time when I finish with this travel size!

Would I recommend this to you? Yes yes yes yes yes yes! Especially if you are dehydrated, really confused, really anything to be honest ;)
Would I recommend this brand? Eventhough I only tried out one product from this brand, but by seeing a lot of positive reviews surfacing online, I sure do think their products work! Moreover... I have my eye on a couple of items already XD

Where can you get it? As mentioned earlier, I got mine at Mecca -
travel size (15 mL) = $30
original size (50 mL) = $84

Have you tried anything from Dr Dennis Gross?

Until next time!

Love,
Melon xoxo
